“Well done for a fantastic gig last Saturday…sound was great , atmosphere was sublime.” Rob Armstrong
St Boswells Live! is a music club organised for the community, by the community.
Shows are held in the wonderful Village Hall of the charming village of St Boswells, deep in the south of Scotland. Every club night features a range of artistes, including a Headline act drawn from the very best musicians around, as well as at least one local act being given an opportunity to play to an enthusiastic audience whether as a Headliner, Support or an Open Mic* act.
St Boswells Live! is a non-profit club that raises money for the upkeep the Village Hall and the continued improvement of live music facilities – everyone involved, except for paid musicians, works voluntarily for the love of the village and the music.
ACCESSIBILITY
THE MAIN AUDITORIUM, ENTRANCE HALL AND TOILETS ARE FULLY ACCESSIBLE FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS AND PEOPLE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY. IF YOU HAVE ANY PARTICULAR NEEDS THEN PLEASE CONTACT THE CLUB (INFO@STBOSWELLSLIVE.COM )
Location
St Boswells is situated just off the A68, between Melrose and Jedburgh in the old county of Roxburghshire (now boringly renamed “Scottish Borders”).
The Village Hall is on the corner of Main Street and Jenny Moore’s Road. You can’t miss it really because it has a bell on the top and isn’t the church. Main Street has some lovely shops and some even lovelier houses, and you really should have a walk around the village before you come and enjoy the music.
If you are coming from afar then Berwick-upon-Tweed and Edinburgh are on bus routes (the 67 and 52 respectively) both of which pass right outside St Boswells Village Hall. The Borders Railway terminates at Tweedbank, which is just 5 miles away. There are also frequent buses from Galashiels / Melrose and most other places in the local area.
Club nights are advertised in the local press and on the radio, as well as in the windows of the aforementioned lovely shops and on the St Boswells Live! web site. Please bring your own food and drink; we’ll supply the candles, tables and chairs.
(* some of our best Open Mic acts have got onto the main bill, so it’s always worth a shot)
